On 28 September 2017, Valdai-45R hydrofoil was launched at the premises of the designer, Alexeev’s Hydrofoil Design Bureau (Chalovsky District of the Nizhny Novgorod Region), says PR service of State Duma Deputy Artem Kavinov.
It is the first passenger hydrofoil of the new generation (the recent one was built in the USSR more than 30 years ago.
The Valdai-45R is built in the framework of the Federal Targeted Programme “Development of shipbuilding and equipment for offshore projects in 2013-2030”.
The ship’s length is 21.3 m, width – 5.2 m, speed – 60 km/h, passenger capacity – 45 persons, cruising range – 400 km, crew – 2 persons.
The hydrofoil fitted with aircraft-type seats can offer high-speed transportation of passengers during the day-time period. The ship can be operated at deep rivers across Russia, from the Central part to the Far East.
The Valdai-45R ship is build at in-house production facilities of Alexeev’s Hydrofoil Design Bureau with the use of the most advanced equipment and materials.
The ship is now to undergo testing in open water and outfitting.
The lead hydrofoil of Project Valdai-45R will start operating in 2018. It will be deployed for operation in Saint-Petersburg during the World Cup 2018 to carry honored funs. Then the ship will be delivered to the customer.
