  Контейнерооборот порт Нью-Йорк/Нью-Джерси в I полугодии 2018 года вырос на 6,8% - до более 3,4 млн TEUs

  В порту Нью-Йорк и Нью-Джерси в январе-июне 2018 года обработано рекордный объем контейнерных грузов –  3,450,469 TEUs, что на 6,8% больше по сравнению с первым полугодием 2017 года (3,229,675 TEUs), говорится в статистическом отчете администрации порта.
  
  На рекордных показателях сказался рост перевалки импортных (+7,8%) и экспортных (+2%) груженных контейнеров, а также завершение проекта стоимостью $1,6 млрд по ремонтному дноуглублению судоходного канала у арочного моста Бейонн. Габарит под мостом был увеличен, что позволит проходить под ним судам вместимостью до 18 тыс. TEUs (по сравнению с 9,8 тыс. TEUs до проекта). В настоящее время 9,1% грузов порта транспортируется на судах вместимостью по 13 тыс. TEUs и больше.
  
  Также в отчетном периоде на 15% выросло количество обработанных грузов на портовой железной дороге. С судов на железнодорожные вагоны было выгружено 315 тыс. единиц грузов.
  
  За шесть месяцев в порту было обработано более 281 тыс. единиц импортно-экспортных автомобилей (+6,2%).
  
  Порт Нью-Йорка и Нью-Джерси является одним из крупнейших портов США для импорта и экспорта автомобилей. В 2008 году в порту было обработано 1 млн 031 тыс. 540 автомобилей (654,7 тыс. импортируемых и 376,7 тыс. экспортируемых).
   
  Автомобили перегружаются на морских терминалах в Нью-Джерси (Auto Marine Terminal) и терминальном комплексе Port Newark / Elizabeth Marine Terminal. Каждый терминал имеет прямой доступ к основным автомагистралям между штатами и к железнодорожным станциям.
  
  Администрация порта, основанная в 1921 году, занимается строительством, управлением и обслуживанием важнейших транспортных активов двух штатов (аэропорты, автомобильные и железные дороги, порты). В транспортной инфраструктуре по управлением администрации порта создано 550 тыс. рабочих мест. Однако администрация не получает в свой бюджет налоговые поступления от штатов Нью-Йорк / Нью-Джерси и г. Нью-Йорк, а финансирует проекты строительства за счет собственных средств и кредитов.
