Ningbo-Zhoushan Port and A.P Moorer-Maersk sign an agreement for deepened comprehensive strategic cooperation
Recently, Ningbo-Zhoushan Port Group Co., Ltd and A.P Moorer-Maersk Co., Ltd., signed agreement for deepened comprehensive strategic cooperation to expand cooperative space and accelerate common development.
As the No.1 liner company in the world, MSK has established hundreds of offices in over 100 countries and extended service all over the world. Over the years, MSK has maintained good cooperative partnership with the Port. At present, the Port has become one of the global main line ports-of-call for ships of Maersk Line that is under MSK, which has become the largest shipping company of the port in term of container throughput.
According to the agreement, the Company and Maersk will establish comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and deepen cooperation mainly in such respects as port-shipping business, terminal operation, logistic projects, personnel training and communication, seek for win-win development. In respect of business cooperation, MSK will appoint the port as the key transfer and distribution center for Maersk Line in Northeast Asia and make corresponding arrangement; in respect of capital cooperation, both parties will jointly operate No.3 to No.5 berths of Meishan Phase I container terminal project, of which, the Company holds 67% shares, Maersk holds 33% share; both parties will establish all-round cooperation in logistics and set up Maersk logistic base in the port and strengthen joint-venture cooperation with international and domestic terminal projects. In respect of management cooperation, both parties will dispatch outstanding staffs to each other for training and internship and make comprehensive communication in respects of experiences and thought on management of port operation, investment and financing, finance, security,human resources and equipment.
The continuously deepened cooperation between the big port and big shipping company will bring along even greater development opportunity. In the correspondence, Maersk Line indicated that Ningbo-Zhoushan Port’s superior strategic position, comprehensive port service, world class operation efficiency and management level will help Maersk Line to deepen global layout, meanwhile Maersk Line will help Ningbo-Zhoushan to realize sustainable development, speed up its construction of international strong port with its global influence and first-class strength.
