Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg increased allocations of it social programme by 17%
Since the beginning of the year, Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg JSC (SP SPb, a company of UCL Holding) has spent RUB 40.7 million for financing of its social programme, which is 17% more as compared with the same period of the previous year. The company says it has increased expenses for social support of its employees, personnel training and charity.
The bulk of the amount – RUB 30.2 million – has been traditionally allocated to support employees with multi-child families, unwed mothers employed by the port, employees granted with “Veteran of the Port” title and employees in hard life situations. Besides, the company covered the expenses of its employees for their kid’s holidays in recreation camps, healthcare, sports and travelling.
As part of the family values preservation programme SP SPb allocated RUB 3.5 million to arrange dedicated events for its employees. From the beginning of the year, more than 500 port employees and their family members have taken part in educational tours and corporate events.
Personnel education is still among the priorities of SP SPb – expenses for this purpose totaled RUB 3.8 million. 365 employees, mostly workers, have passed advanced training courses this year. They have mastered new equipment, studied occupational safety and fire rules. SP SPb has recently finalized the New Leaders programme aimed at management personnel development and mid-tier executives succession pipeline.
With a focus on the health of the younger generations and youth sports development, the company sponsored the Young Athletes Training Center on the basis of the OLIMPIYETS Sport Shooting Club. Its allocations let upgrade the facilities and train children free of charge.
SP SPb also provided support to St. Petersburg paralympic team so that it could participate in the Victory Cup dressage, dedicated to the memory of young hero Zina Portnova. For the team, these competitions became preparatory in the run-up to the Russian Paralympic Dressage Championships in Moscow, where the St. Petersburg team won several prizes.
Total allocations of the port for charity projects exceeded RUB 3.2 million.
Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg JSC (a company of UCL Port – stevedoring division of the International Transportation Group UCL Holding) is the largest operator, rendering services on handling of all types of dry cargoes at Big Port St. Petersburg. It operates modern multipurpose specialized terminals for handling of general and bulk cargoes and specialized terminals for ro-ro cargoes and containers. In 2017, the company handled 6.9 million tonnes of cargo.
