Marine Recruiting Agency trains mooring masters for berthing of cruise liners

Training Center of OOO Marine Recruiting Agency (MRA, part of UCL Holding) graduates new professionals. On 4 July 2018, it completed training of unique mooring specialists (cruise ship mooring masters) for a tour operator, OOO ARCTUR TRAVEL.

The training process was divided into two phases. The first phase, theoretical one, included training of ARCTUR TRAVEL representatives under the “mooring master” programme. The new system of on-line training provided for arranging both on-site and off-site classes. The students were familiarized with different types of mooring operations, key principles and rules of mooring/unmooring of vessels under any weather conditions and were shown main instruments of mooring masters – ropes, bollards, towing pads and reels with the knowledge consolidation and assessment through the final test.

The second phase was of special interest for the students. The future specialists could apply their knowledge into practice at the passenger terminals on the Angliyskaya and Leitenanta Shmidta embankments. Having successfully completed their insight into the new profession all the graduates obtained their Mooring Master Certificates.
