Havyard Power & Systems AS changes its name and wins a new contract with ESVAGT

Havyard is merging all its products in the segment Power, Automation and Navigation into a joint business area, Norwegian Electric Systems (NES). As part of this change, Havyard Power & Systems is also changing its name to Norwegian Control Systems AS (NCS), the company said in its press release.

Havyard Power & Systems, now Norwegian Control Systems, was established in 2007 and now celebrates its 10th anniversary.

The new business area, which comprises Norwegian Electric Systems and Norwegian Control Systems, will have a unique set of products that complement each other. The new business area will deliver complete systems from bridges to propellers.

We have also established a branch in Egersund, in addition to our Bergen and Ålesund branches, which will primarily focus on product development. The Egersund area has a long-standing tradition of developing state-of-the-art technology in the field of marine systems.

Norwegian Control System will deliver the electrical equipment package for a new windfarm service vessel in Spain.

NCS shall deliver an electrical design and equipment package containing IAS and Concept Bridge, as well as a tank gauging system.

The ship will be built at Ast. Zamakona Yards in Spain. This will be the fifth vessel constructed by Zamakona Yards using an electrical package from NCS. The contract is worth approx. NOK 10 million.

The vessel is scheduled to be delivered to ESVAGT in August 2019. It will be used under a contract with the Danish wind power company Vestas and service the OWF Deutsche Bucht field.

This will be the seventh Esvagt vessel for which NCS has supplied equipment and engineering services. The other contracts concern four windfarm service vessels, one oil service vessel and a crew changeover vessel.

NCS has shown through its previous deliveries to Esvagt that it is capable of delivering high-quality products at the right time to a customer with high demands. With this, it has strengthened its position in relation to both Esvagt and Zamakona as the preferred supplier of automation and bridge solutions.

Havyard Design & Solution is supplying the design for ESVAGT's windfarm service vessel.

When developing this design, the emphasis has been on developing an efficient platform for servicing offshore windfarms. The ship has a spacious and comfortable interior with sufficient capacity to accommodate windmill service personnel in addition to the ship's crew. It has also been designed with good storage capacity for equipment and tools below deck and for containers on deck.

The vessel is equipped with ESVAGT’s unique Safe Transfer Boat (STB) system for transporting service personnel to the windfarms, in addition to an integrated heave-compensated walkway.

The hull has been designed to ensure low fuel consumption and a seaworthiness that ensures maximum comfort for the crew and service personnel on board.
