    Throughput of port Tallinn (Estonia) down 7.4% to 2.23 mln t in Jan'16 (table)

    In January 2016, the Port of Tallinn (Estonia) handled 2,231,200 t of cargo (-7.4%, year-on-year). According to the Port Authorities, container throughput dropped by 11.3% to 15,277 TEUs, Ro-Ro cargo increased by 5.4% to 318,700 t.

    Transshipment of loose bulk cargo totaled 238,500 t (+28.3%), mixed cargo - 64,000 t (+12.5%).

    Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 1.46 mln t (-14,8%).

    In January 2016, the ports of Tallinna Sadam were visited by a total of 151 cargo vessels and 369 passenger vessels.

    Passenger traffic of Tallinna Sadam ports in January 2016 climbed by 5.5% to 547,200 passengers.

    Port of Tallinn ranks fourth largest seaport, next to St. Petersburg, Primorsk and Ust-Luga, on the Baltic Sea. The Port comprises five so-called port zones: Muuga, Old City Harbor, Paljassaare, Paldiski South and Saaremaa. In 2014 throughput at Tallinn port totaled 28.32 million tonnes.
