    NCSP Group says its throughput up 16.2% to 12.7 mln t in Jan’15

    Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port Group announces that its consolidated cargo turnover for January 2015 amounted to 12.7 million tonnes, exceeding that of January 2014 and December 2014 by 16.2% and 40.1% respectively.

    Volumes of liquid cargo comprised 10 243.1 thousand tonnes, bulk cargo totaled 963.3 thousand tonnes; general cargo amounted to 1 093 thousand tonnes, and containers accounted for 367.3 thousand tonnes and 37.2 thousand TEU. All types of cargo showed growth compared to January 2014.

    Commenting on the operating results for January 2015 CEO of PJSC NCSP Sultan Batov noted that «January cargo traffic increased 16.2% year-on-year and 40.1% versus previous month. This is conditioned by shifting of material volumes of crude oil exports from December 2014 to January 2015 in view of oil export duty cut from $277.5 to $170.2 per ton, as well as by season increase in export of summer sorts of diesel fuel due to low demand on domestic market».

    Transshipment of liquid cargo in January 2015 totaled 10 243.1 thousand tonnes.

    Crude oil volumes amounted to 7 227 thousand tonnes, exceeding these of January 2014 by 875.8 thousand tonnes or 13.8%. Crude transshipment in January 2015 versus December 2014 at Novorossiysk and Primorsk increased by 1 376.2 thousand tonnes or 78.6% and by 1 792.3 thousand tonnes and 77.7% respectively.

    Oil products volumes increased by 590.9 thousand tonnes or 24.8% versus January 2014, and by 820.1 thousand tonnes or 38.1% versus December 2014.

    UAN and seed oils volumes in January 2015 totaled 33 thousand tonnes and 12.4 thousand tonnes respectively.

    NCSP Group loaded 963.3 thousand tonnes of bulk cargo in January 2015, which is 233 thousand tonnes or 31.9% more compared to January 2014.

    Transshipment of grain totaled 513.4 thousand tonnes – 135.7 thousand tonnes or 35.9% more that same period last year.

    Fertilizers’ volumes increased by 63.2 thousand tonnes or 116.2% year-on-year, and reached 117.6 thousand tonnes.

    Sugar handling comprised 107.9 thousand tonnes, exceeding that of January 2014 by 22.8 thousand tonnes or 26.8%.

    Transshipment of coal increased 3.5 times versus January 2014 and by 40% versus December 2014, reaching 163.8 thousand tonnes.

    General cargo volumes in January 2015 totaled 1 093 thousand tonnes, exceeding these of January and December 2014 by 10.4% and 8.8% respectively.

    Transshipment of ferrous metals and pig iron reached 893 thousand tonnes, which is 6.0% more, that in January 2014, and 11.5% more, than in December 2014.

    Non-ferrous metals volumes increased 32.4% and 9.6% versus January and December 2014 respectively.

    Timber cargo increased 19.0% compared to January and 40.7% to December 2014.

    NCSP Group’s container turnover in January 2015 comprised 367.3 thousand tonnes and 37.2 thousand TEU, increasing by 7.2 thousand tonnes or 2% to January 2014.

    NCSP Group is the largest port operator in Russia and the third-largest in Europe, in terms of cargo turnover. NCSP Group cargo turnover in 2014 totalled 131 million tonnes. Consolidated revenue to IFRS in 2013 totalled USD 928 million and EBITDA was USD 510 million. NCSP Group consolidates the following companies: PJSC Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port, LLC Primorsk Trade Port, PJSC Novorossiysk Grain Terminal, OJSC Novorossiysk Ship Repair Yard, OJSC NCSP Fleet, OJSC NLE, OJSC IPP, CJSC Baltic Stevedore Company, and CJSC SFP.
