Laky Verf launches 14М boat and lays down 17MJ boat (photo)

On November 25, 2014 Laky Verf shipyard (Shlisselburg, Leningrad region) launched 14М boat (building No 14М-15) for the Federal Customs Service of Russia, IAA PortNews journalist reports.

The boat named ТС536 joins the fleet of the Rostov Customs (Southern Customs). The vessel will be registered in Azov.

The launching ceremony was opened by Laky Verf Director General Konstantin Buryanov who noted that ТС536 is the 15th vessel of project 14М and the 26th vessel in the list of patrol boats built by the shipyard.

“The expansion of our sales geography is an encouraging fact. This vessel will go to Azov, where our company was not represented before,” Konstantin Buryanov said.

As customer representative Vyacheslav Kuratchenko told IAA PortNews, for more than a year Southern Customs has been successfully operating the vessel built by Laky Verf with a similar class and characteristics.

“The delivery/acceptance tests will be performed in Azov in the first decade of December’14 and the vessel will commence operation for Rostov Customs in the navigation period of 2015,” Vyacheslav Kuratchenko said.

The boat (building No 14М-15) is an average size customs vessel intended for customs control purposes (patrolling, inspections, interception and search of non-compliant vessels, passenger transportation) in the waters of the coastal and marine areas, and estuaries of major rivers, both at night and in daytime, as well as for search and rescue operations and other purposes.

The shipyard has also laid down patrol boat of project 17MJ featuring longer hull and higher speed as compared with 14М project.

    Vessel’s major characteristics: LOA – 18.02 m, BOA – 3.97 m, average draught with full displacement – 0.82 m, speed max – 40 knots.

Laky Verf is located at Nevsky Shipyard (Shlisselburg, Leningrad region) and has its own production facilities. From 2005 the company specializes in production of steel motor luxury yachts with exclusive design of the interior developed by the famous Dutch designers Guido de Groot and Frank Laupman. Since its foundation the company has built and transferred to the customers 6 yachts of 23M project. All 23.5-meter yachts successfully passed sea trials. The construction is supervised by Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.
