Tanker-3, lead bunkering tanker of the series built by Yaroslavl shipyard, put into operation (photo)
Upon successful completion of the state tests, Tanker-3, lead bunkering tanker of the series built by Yaroslavl shipyard (project RT-18, hull No 901) was put into operation on September 19, 2014, the shipyard says in its press release.
The series of three tankers being built by Yaroslavsky Shipyard for the Kama Basin Authority under the “Renovation of Auxiliary fleet” activity of the sub-programme “Inland water transport” of the federal special-purpose programme “Development of Russia’s Transportation System in 2010 – 2020”.
In the nearest future the Tanker-3 will set off for the port of destination in Perm.
The vessel is designed by MIB-Design SPB for shore-to-vessel or vessel-to-vessel acceptance, transportation as well as vessel-to-shore or vessel-to-vessel discharge of oil products with flash-point exceeding 60°С. It can also transport diesel fuel, lube products with viscosity of up to 50 Cst under 50°С.
The vessel’s navigation area is inland water ways of the Russian Federation (corresponding to navigation area О 2.0).
The bunkering tanker is a steel single-deck self-propelled double-screw vessel with a double bottom and double broadsides, as well as a bow propulsion unit.
The vessel’s major characteristics: length overall – about 61.29 m; breadth overall – about 10.42 m; depth– 2.60 m; Draught at SLWL – 2.00 m; endurance - 15 days; deadweight - 517 t; capacity of cargo tanks for diesel fuel – about 526 cbm, capacity of cargo tanks for lubes – about 56 cbm, capacity of slop tanks - 26 cbm, capacity platforms ballast tanks - 521 cbm; speed – about 9 knots; RS Class: О 2.0 (ice 30) А; .
OJSC Yaroslavsky Shipbuilding Plant (Yaroslavsky Shipyard, the Management Company CJSC «VP FINSUDPROM») is located in the central part of Russia on the Volga River. The shipyard was founded in 1920 and was reincorporated in 1993. The company specializes in the construction of commercial vessels and warships.
Yaroslavsky Shipyard is a major shipbuilding contractor for Ministry of Defense, the supplier of off-shore seagoing tugs for Russian law enforcement agencies. The enterprise has built 76 seagoing tugs of projects 745 and 1454 and their modifications. In December 2013 Yaroslavsky Shipyard handed over to the Russian Navy a 745-design sea-going tugboat "Victor Konetsky," that has entered service with the Baltic Fleet forces.
The shipyard’s current state-ordered projects are: seagoing tug of project 745 mbs and three landing boats of project 21820 for the RF Ministry of Defense; three high-speed patrol boats of project 12260 for the RF Federal Security Service; six boom-laying boats of project SV 2407 and three bunkering tankers of project RT 18 for the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency.
