    Pella shipyard launched Russia’s first crab catching vessel Rus, Project 03070

    On 26 December 2018, Pella shipyard (Leningrad Region) supported by Alfa-Bank held a ceremonial launching of the lead crab catching vessel of Project 03070, Rus, Russia’s first ship intended for crab catching, says press center of the bank.

    That sophisticated project was developed by Pella design bureau together with the customer, Antey LLC (Far East). The shipbuilding contract was signed in June 2017.

    Alfa-Bank covered up to 70% of investments into the project.  

    The vessel is designed for crab catching by cone traps with following sorting, loading in grid baskets and live crab transporting in tanks with sea cooled water (RSW type).

    The crab catching vessel of Project 03070 fitted with shipboard and technological equipment manufactured by global leaders will operate in the seas of Russia’s Far East.

    Key technical parameters: LOA – 50.45 m; BOA – 12 m; deadweight – 585 t; full displacement - about 1,835 t; Overall draft at full displacement – 6.62 m; capacity of RSW tanks  - about 450 cbm; bait store capacity – about 30 cbm; main propulsion unit - Wartsila 6L20, about 1200 kW at 1,000 rpm; speed – about 12 knots; endurance  - not less than 5 days in terms of water capacity and not less than 30 days in terms of fuel capacity; cruising range – not less than 6,000 miles; crew - 30. Class notation of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping – КМ Ice2 AUT3 (REF) Fishing vessel.

    The ship is expected to show high economic efficiency allowing to catch up to 1,000 tonnes of crab per year. The construction is to be completed in the third quarter of 2019.

    Founded in 1990, Alfa-Bank is a full-service bank operating in most sectors of the financial market, including retail and corporate lending, investment banking, leasing, factoring and trade finance.

    Alfa-Banking Group became the largest private bank in Russia in terms of total assets, total equity, deposit and loan portfolios.

    According IFRS financial statements for 1H2018 year, the Alfa Banking Group, which comprises ABH Financial, Joint Stock Company «ALFA-BANK» as well as its subsidiary financial companies, had total assets of USD 45.1 bn, gross loans of USD 29.5 bn, and total equity of USD 7.1 bn. Net profit after tax for 1H2018 amounted to USD 658 mln.

    As of June 30, 2018 Alfa-Bank serves more than 507,000 corporate and 15.8 mln retail customers, while the branch network consists of 774 offices in Moscow, across Russia and abroad, including a subsidiary bank in the Netherlands and financial subsidiaries in the United Kingdom and Cyprus.
