The range of services intended for the container industry enterprises and organizations and being developed by RS for already 40 years will be presented at the RS stand. Development of regulatory and technical requirements addressing the improvement of container transportation safety and taking into consideration the industry needs; RS participation in the applied research, elaboration of innovative container types and implementation of advanced technologies in their manufacture; RS participation in the international and national organizations effecting the containerization-related policy are among the items to be covered.

At present, RS has introduced in its rules the requirements for tank containers with fiber-reinforced (FRP) shells related to design, service and repair of this transport equipment. In future, the participation of all the interested parties will be required for generating the uniform international requirements to materials, structure, manufacture and testing of tank containers with FRP shells. The Russian tank container with FRP shell for transportation of deleterious substances (hydrochloric acid, orthophosphoric acid and caustic-soda solution) has been designed and put into operational testing with the RS participation. The first Russian hi-tech tank containers for the carriage of liquid helium and liquid hydrogen; cryogenic containers for the carriage by various kinds of transport, storage of liquefied natural gas and application as a filling tank are among the current projects with the RS participation.

Advice on various aspect of the RS technical supervision, including the survey of containers, materials and products manufactured both in Russia and abroad may be provided at the RS stand.

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) performs its activity at the container transportation market since 1973 when the USSR joined the International Convention for Safe Containers and the container-related Customs Convention. At present, RS represents the Bureau International des Containers within the territory of the the post-Soviet space, is a full-member of the International Tank Container Organization (ITCO), participates in the development of the normative base on containers within the International Organization for Standardization and the "Containers" Technical Committee of GOST R, represents the International Association of Classification Societies in the Technical Committee ISO/TC 104 Freight containers.
