    NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard continues reconstruction and modernization

    NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard says it continues the second stage of reconstruction and modernization.

    The company started to reconstruct the shipyard and started to construct its own cargo fleet in 2012.

    In the period from 2012 till 2016 the first stage of reconstruction took place. In the process of reconstruction the European level of working conditions was provided (all accommodation spaces were repaired, recreation zone was created, bicycle parking was installed); the shipyard’s slip and quay are repaired; the cranes are renewed (new cranes and beam cranes were purchased) and the existing units are adjusted; the technical facilities are renewed (new tools and welding machines are purchased), and other.

    The second stage of reconstruction of NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard started n 2017.

    It should be mentioned that the shipyard is being modernized within cooperation with the European Investment Bank.

    In February 2017 as part of the project the company will put into operation:

    ─ a metal-roll warehouse (the maximum size of metal sheet comprise 2.5*12 m). The total capacity of metal-roll storage is 10,000 tons;

    ─ an automatic cleaning and priming line of metal-roll with the capacity of 10,000 tons per year and area of 500 m2;

    ─ a metal-roll workshop with CNC plasma cutting and gas cutting machines; the maximum thickness of cut comprises 75 and 300 mm, the total area comprises 2,100 m2. We plan to set two overhead cranes with the capacity of 20 tons each in the workshop;

    ─  guillotine shears, hydraulic rollers, press shears, equipment for plates and frames bending.

    The specialists are assembling the roller conveyor machine. On February 6 the specialist will start precommissioning works. Due to direct participation and control of NIBULON’s and Rosler’s management, one will halve the period to perform these works.

    As for ESAB plasma cutting and gas cutting machine (Germany), NIELAND presses (the Netherlands), RICO edge banding machine and guillotine (Portugal), IMCAR rollers (Italy), KPTO overhead cranes (Ukraine), the sites are prepared, the equipment is purchased and should be delivered to Mykolaiv. NIBULON’s General Director Oleksiy Vadaturskyy personally held negotiations with the heads of all the manufacturing companies in order to accelerate the delivery of the purchased equipment.

    Participants of the annual exhibition “Shipbuilding -2017” will see a renewed NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard in May 2017. In addition, due to NIBULON, this year’s exhibition will be of international level.

    During the exhibition, the company’s management and specialists will be able to meet with representatives of other companies that are engaged in equipment manufacturing and to sign new agreements, in particular for purchase of more high-capacity launch and lifting gear and construction of the main complex of hull workshops for NIBULON’s shipyard.

    It should be noted that the next stage of modernization of the efficient shipbuilding and repair yard provides for:

    −  sectional assembly workshops for assembling and construction special orders of more than 2,600 m2;

    −  increase of capacities of crane facilities by placing additional portal crane with the carrying capacity of 32 tons and replacement of the portal cranes by new ones with carrying capacity of up to 35 tons.

    As part of the given project one more new workshop – assembly and sectional workshop – will be put into operation this year.

    NIBULON is reconstructing its shipbuilding yard and continues constructing its own cargo fleet at the same time.

    Thus, a hundred percent workload of the shipyard provides for construction of twenty-four non-self-propelled vessels of modernized B4000 project, three non-self-propelled B2000 project vessels, a self-propelled dredger, three  121 project pusher tugs (modernized)of 1 200 hp, two multipurpose seagoing tugs of 3 500 hp and 5 000 hp, a non-self-propelled floating crane in 2017-2022.

    At present NIBULON's cargo fleet numbers 55 units with the displacement of more than 159 thousand tons.
